Last September 14, the Japanese Embassy in Manila confirmed that Tokyo received a report on possible terrorist attacks in Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, including the Philippines. However, officials from said countries said there was no new information on heightened security threats in their country.
Additionally, the Philippines, through the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Armed Forces of The Philippines, and the Department of National Defense all stated that there was new information on terror threats in the country and that the Philippines’ threat level remains as moderate.
