In a momentous event, both Filipino athletes Jack Escarpe, who competed in Kurash or folk wrestling, and Carlos Yulo, who competed in gymnastics, bagged the country’s 2nd and 3rd gold medals, respectively, on May 13, in the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi.

The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) has announced that SEA Games medalists will receive cash benefits under Republic Act No. 10699 or the National Athletes and Coaches Benefits and Incentives Act. Al gold medalist will get PHP300,000, a silver medalist PHP150,000, and bronze medalist PHP60,000.
